About Us
Our Mission
Independent Artist Group has 3 main missions:
To hold monthly events in Chippenham town centre.
This is our main purpose. These events alternate between ART and CRAFT and hold 2 purposes;
Firstly to give artists and crafters a place to show off their work and make some sales. Many of these stall holders have been unable to sell their work during the last year and it's been wonderful to see their excitement and eagerness as they "get back out there".
Secondly, we are giving the people of Chippenham a place to
shop and relax away from the main high street.
They can also support these local artists by buying their work and meeting and talking with them. We hope that meeting these talented artists will inspire creativity in our visitors too.

Community Together
We would like to have a consistent involvement and open communication with Chippenham artists, artist groups, local businesses and individuals with an interest in these.
We hold regular meetings in Chippenham, and discuss all things from WHAT'S ON in Chippenham to addressing issues in our daily and professional lives.
These meetings are open to anyone who has an interest in Chippenham and local arts and businesses.
Supporting Charities
We encourage anyone who raises money for a charity or a good cause to have a free table at one of monthly art fairs and craft markets. We help with their fundraising and promotion and encourage general awareness of the charity.
We are actively involved with Kandu Arts and support the amazing work they do. You can find out more about them here.
Who are we?
Lucia Lovatt
Artist - Painter
Specialising in animal art
and pet portraits
Lucia Lovatt is a Chippenham based artist, who paints bright, vibrant and fun animal studies.
Her popular watercolour and acrylic studies sell as original art work and prints.
She also paints pet portraits, capturing moments and memories of dogs, cats, horses and many more.
As well as being a full time artist and mother, Lucia runs the Independent Artist Group with Lucy Dowling, organising the art fairs and craft markets.
You can find Lucia most days painting in the Kandu SHOP in Emery Gate, Chippenham.
Lucy Dowling
Artist - Jeweller
Specialising in hand crafted porcelain necklaces and earrings.
Lucy Dowling is a Chippenham based artist, who specialises in porcelain and silver jewellery.
Taking inspiration from foraging and seeing the natural world through the eyes of her young children, Lucy's beautiful works reflects this natural beauty.
As well as being a full time artist and mother, Lucy runs the Independent Artist Group with Lucia Lovatt, organising the art fairs and craft markets.
She also runs work shops with Kandu Arts.
